"What a beautiful and comforting book!
And, oh my, how the world needs beauty and comfort! I am not surprised that Glenda has designed and written such a treasure. For all the years I’ve known her, she has been dedicated to bringing more awareness, more hope, more light, to lift us up into the world of possibility that Love is constantly providing. This book also challenges us, whatever our age, to do what we can with what we have right where we are. It is a call
to prayer and a call to action. May our children.. may we all … heed the call."

"Those who embrace their Swedish heritage or anyone
looking to teach children Nordic culture,
especially during the season of Advent, will be informed and inspired by this unique approach to the story of Santa Lucia.
By asking the simple child's question, "Who are you Santa Lucia" Cedarleaf challenges
all ages to bring love and light to the world.
In her audiobook, she enhances both subject and format
to illuminate the spirit and message of Lucia."

Additional 5 Star Reviews
from Geraldine Grossman A stunningly visual and written inspiration for every age
As a subscriber to Insight Timer, I listen to the soothing, calm, inspirational, and always hopeful voice of Glenda Cedarleaf's meditations and stories. So when I saw on Amazon that she had published a new book, I purchased it immediately.
Glenda's choice of stunning images and words invite a gentle welcoming into the world of compassion, caring, kindness, and possibility. As an adult, I adore children's books because of their simple and elegant messages straight to the heart. There is not a wasted word in this book. Each page expresses an economy of a well-written poem and a diverse cast of smiling children. I found myself smiling with them and noting the many ways that Ms. Cedarleaf suggests to help bring light into our world.
Suppose there was ever a time when humankind needed a message of hope, light, compassion, possibility, empowerment, and goodness. In that case, it is now, all encaptured in this delightful, informative, and precious bundle of a book. Thank you for this book, Ms. Cedarleaf, and I hope the world gives back to you all that you bring to your readers. I recommend this book for any age, especially the inner child in all of us.

Connecting Past and Present
My family is familiar with Santa Lucia/St Lucia because of our Scandinavian background so this book caught my attention, but I hope that people of other ancestral backgrounds will also choose to purchase this book as well; as the legacy of Lucia is relevant to all. I have other picture books about Santa Lucia/St. Lucia but the thing that makes this one unique (and is my favorite part) is when the author relates the kind, hope-bringing behavior of Lucia to today and even gives a list of concrete actions a family or individual could choose to take (or be inspired to come up with their own action plan), being light bringers themselves. One example from the list is to bring food to the local food pantry. I think we can never have too many books on our shelves to share that encourage children and adults to participate in acts of kindness or service, we can all be part of making the world a better place; bringing light and hope in our world. I chose to purchase the hardback version because I know I will enjoy displaying it during the dark month of December (with the beautiful artwork!) as a reminder of one of the brave and kind light bringers of the past, who is a role model for us today. Can you tell I love this book? I think every family should have a copy! This book would make a special gift for a young family - maybe shared at the Thanksgiving table!

A soothing and inspiring story for children
I bought this book for my niece, a little girl who I know will resonate with the message of Santa Lucia. She is a saint who some may know as wearing a ring of candles on her head, a bringer of light in times of darkness. And what better time than now to read this story to children, many of whom are frightened by the violence they see around them and in their schools. And of course, all children need reminding that there is light and hope and someone to hear them when they feel afraid, hurt, or sad.
The author's guided meditation is so soothing, too, if you get the audio version. It's also in the back of the book if a parent or grandparent wants to read it as they put their child to bed with comforting, calming words. Your child will love the beautiful pictures that include depictions of children of all races embracing the message of peace of Santa Lucia.

A lovely look at how a young Italian girl became an example of kindness and charity
I grew up celebrating Lucia Day. My three sisters and I excitedly prepared the coffee and coffee cake for our parents and carried them into their bedroom singing the Lucia song. We love this tradition in our Swedish heritage. This book shares the story of Lucia, whose care for others was carried across the world. Glenda Cedarleaf goes beyond telling a sweet story to offering tangible ways for readers to show the same compassion. Children will identify with the lovely photographs in the book and will discover how even a young person can make a difference in our world.

A Warm and Love Way to Talk About Swedish Heritage with Young Children
My mom was 100% Swedish. As a young girl I remember her telling me about her childhood and the traditions her family observed. This book is a wonderful way to share those traditions of Santa Lucia with new generations, in a beautiful format with lovely illustrations. Our family treasures this book.

A book that is rich in warmth, love, & kindness
I love the book, Who Are You Santa Lucia? This book is rich in warmth, love, and kindness. It has a lovely message for the world. I am a former elementary teacher and play therapist who so appreciates the clever art making in this book. I feel it will inspire children to create their own images of Santa Lucia. I thank Glenda Cedarleaf for her book and her generous spirit of dedicating all proceeds of this book to the Ukrainian people. This book offers a win/win opportunity to celebrate life and love especially at the holiday season.

A tender, sweet book that shows children how they can make a difference in the world
This delightful book encourages and teaches children the way of love and kindness to others based on the life of Santa Lucia.
It’s an inspiring way of introducing this beautiful Saint and how she is remembered and celebrated throughout the world as a symbol of light and service. I was reminded of the tradition of “friendship bread” and how seemingly small acts of kindness, like sharing rolls or other food, can make a huge difference in someone’s life.
In todays world where our children witness hate and violence this tender book of the heart can teach a child ways to love, serve and share their light to others. It affirms how we can make a difference in this world.
I appreciated the meditation included at the end of the book as a wonderful tool children (and adults) can adopt as a way to connect with their own inner light and love, and then shine that out to their community.
I will be sharing this sweet book with my own and my friends’ grandchildren.

An inspiring reminder of the importance of sharing light and love in this time of darkness
This lovely book introduces the reader to the life of Santa Lucia and offers ways for children to cultivate love, kindness and inner peace in their own lives and share it with others. The original artwork is beautiful and engaging. The photographs represent children across many cultures and suggest that the values espoused by Santa Lucia are universal.... a message that is much needed at this difficult time.

Glenda,
I have purchased your new book, and also have since forwarded it to many friends to share this beautiful message.
My grand nieces are on my list to receive in the very near future.
It is a beautifully illustrated book, praises to your sister.
Undoubtedly, your words chosen for the creation of this book follow the same impactful insight, and effects that all of your meditations offer, so I send tremendous thanks, especially too that it has been dedicated to the people of Ukraine.
We can only hope that they will one day be able to set their hands on your writings, and turn the pages so as to bring some desperately needed comfort and solace to their loved ones as well.
Gratefully, Toni Mineo
