Peaceful Transition Meditation Audio
"Hush now, Listen. Lean into those voices that whisper at dawn.
Stand gently proudly
On the Broad Bones
The Great Shoulders
of the grand mothers and fathers who dreamt you and held you,
Keep you and walk with you stroking your face as dawn paints that canvas of sky."

Hello, I'm Glenda Cedarleaf MSW, clinical hypnotherapist, author, creator of over 150 guided meditations and bedtime stories, and former home health and hospice social worker. I wrote this meditation to be a companion for both those facing end of life as well as their loved ones. It is spiritual but not religious. It is soothing and heart opening. My hope is that those who listen will feel supported and comforted. Although this approach won't be for everyone, I know it has been helpful for many. |
I invite you to listen to this meditation and see if it is a resource you would want to share with your patients and their loved ones. Thank you for visiting this page!

Peaceful Transition:
Reflections from Listeners on the Insight Timer Meditation App
"Such pure love emanating in all ways and directions. I am sitting bedside with a transitioning client and playing your divine meditation. I love the stretch of gentle music that lingers after the meditation. Exquisite. Thank you Glenda." 🙏🌀🙏🌀
"This brought my mother and me peace. Thank you."
"I just played this while sitting here with mom in hospice. She is unconscious with only hours to live but I hope she was able to hear this meditation. It was truly beautiful and moving. Thank you so much for this wonderful meditation."

"Thank you! I'm playing this to my sister while transitioning."
"I listened to this the night my mother passed. It was deeply soothing then. I did not know at the time of listening that it was so close to her time. Listening to it again now, brings her closer to me. She was there smiling. Thank you" 🙏
"This was a wonderful guided meditation! I’m with my 100 year old mother in hospice on Christmas Day. The music and Glenda’s voice were very relaxing and comforting. I don’t know how much longer she has. After this meditation,
she is resting quietly."
"Thank you so much for this beautiful message. Although I am not yet in the immediate dying phase of my life, I find this meditation very soothing." 🙏
"Thank you. This was so helpful to process my feelings while a family member was dying."
"I wish I could have played this for my mother when she was dying in January. Instead she had to listen to the deafening sound of the TV booming all hours as my Dad refused to get his ears waxed. It haunts me that she was desperate to escape that noise but was too weak to tell him and anything I tried to do to make her comfortable he dismissed. I have already written instructions for my husband that I do not want to be anywhere near the TV and want to listen to your angelic voice meditations and stories. Thank you for this."
🙏"I have lost my dearest friend today and this has helped so much, thankyou. Very beautiful and soothing"🙏
"Thank you for this. For me, the most healing ingredient in the recording is the gentle warmth in your voice. The unhurried pacing helps, too. I am not facing any imminent threats to my life, just age doing its work. While listening, I found myself reflecting back on four dear friends I have lost over the years. Funny how I felt greeted by them.
"Thank you! I listen to this meditation almost daily to prepare for sleep. Your voice, thoughts, pace and music are so very peaceful and gentle, and help me feel connected to both this life and the next. My father’s transition was peaceful, and this meditation reconnects me to that time with him."
"I've been avoiding grieving for my husband who passed away last October. Listening to this enabled me to go deep into my feelings about it. The way your voice is so calm & loving really helped me. I love all of your work. Thank You."🤗🙏💜🌹

Join Glenda Cedarleaf, one of Insight Timer’s expert teachers, as she gently leads you through a soothing visualization and comforting affirmations to release resistance and embrace death as a peaceful and sacred transition.
Through Glenda’s gentle guidance, you’ll explore the spiritual and emotional process of letting go, transitioning from the physical world into the infinite space of love and light.
Steps included in the Peaceful Transition Meditation
Step 1: Create a comfortable sacred space.
Begin by settling into a comfortable position. Whether you are sitting, lying down, or reclining, allow your body to feel supported. This is a sacred process, so find a quiet, calm environment free from distractions. Let your body and mind prepare for release. Take a moment to focus on your breath, drawing in deep, full inhales and releasing long, soothing exhales.
Step 2: Bring awareness to the present moment
Close your eyes and gently shift your awareness to the present. In this moment, allow yourself to let go of any worries, distractions, or responsibilities. As Glenda guides you, imagine your spirit releasing everything that no longer serves you—old fears and resentments, physical pain, emotional heaviness. This is your time to experience the deep peace that comes with surrendering.
As you breathe, begin to inhale love and peace, and exhale anything that burdens you. Each breath becomes an opportunity to let go.
Step 3: Connect with unconditional love
Imagine that your body is being held in the arms of unconditional love. This love permeates every cell, every corner of your being, filling you with safety and reassurance. Allow your body and spirit to relax deeper and deeper into this loving presence. Visualize yourself as a vessel of light. Every part of you, from your mind to your spirit, is becoming lighter and lighter, as though you are being lifted by this divine love.
As you breathe into areas of discomfort, let the energy of love flow through you, releasing any pain or tension you may be holding.
Step 4: Imagine a peaceful place
Now, begin to visualize a beautiful path stretching out before you. Off in the distance, you can see the sky filled with colors and shades that you love the most—maybe it’s a stunning sunset or a bright blue sky dotted with clouds. As you walk down this path, feel the safety and peace of this place.
Imagine a special spot where you can rest. It could be a soft patch of grass, a beach by the ocean, or a quiet room filled with your favorite colors and sounds. Here, you are surrounded by comfort and safety.
Step 5: Connect with a loved one
As you relax in this peaceful place, imagine a loved one who has passed stepping towards you. Feel their loving presence and see the comfort in their eyes. They offer you a hand, guiding you with love and reassurance. In this moment, they are here to help you transition peacefully, let go of your physical body, and embrace the spirit world.
The light and love they bring flow into your body, filling every cell, every inch of your being. Visualize this light streaming through you, connecting you with divine love and the infinite beauty of the universe.
Step 6: Release and surrender into light
As you continue this journey, let go of any remaining resistance. Your loved one holds your hand, guiding you toward the ultimate surrender. As you look up into the heavens, imagine the infinite, vast beauty above you. Begin to feel the experience of letting go and feel the lightness that comes with it.
As your body becomes filled with light, Every part of you—physical, emotional, spiritual—can begin to feel lighter and more connected. As the burdens of this world fall away, your awareness can shift to a sense of being cradled in the arms of love and light; safe and at peace.
Step 7: Rest in divine love
Continue to imagine now resting in the arms of divine love as you also sense into the connections that you share with your loved ones. Feel your body surrender into the spaciousness of this love that has no limits.
As we focus on the affirmation, “Letting go and surrounded in love and light,” let these words become a mantra for your spirit. With each repetition, feel yourself releasing more deeply into this safe, loving energy.
Take a moment to reflect
After completing this meditation, it’s important to take some time to reflect on the experience. Whether you’re supporting a loved one in their final days or preparing for your own transition, these moments of reflection help deepen your understanding of life, love, and release.
